In honor of Veteran’s Day, 98-year-old Sinclair resident Murray Kaner was recently interviewed by the Long Island Press.
Kaner enlisted at just 17 and soon learned the importance of resilience, teamwork, and leadership. He fought in the Battle of Baguio and became leader of his squad. Despite decades of civilian life, he credits his military experience for shaping his approach to work and family. Kaner moved to The Sinclair in Port Washington in 2021, where he maintains a disciplined lifestyle and enjoys life’s simple pleasures, like reading the newspaper from front to back each morning.
